Should the U.S. government reduce the amount of nuclear weapons in Montana? Add Answer

U.S. Rep Denny Rehberg has sent a letter asking the United States military not to reduce Montana's nuclear weapon stockpile. His reasons are that it would take away a shield against foreign attacks and be an economic loss to some Montana communities around Malmstrom Air Base near Great Falls. Montana has more nuclear weapons then all of China

There is not a strategic difference between having 1000 warheads in Montana and having 250. Either way you'd run out of targets before you ran out of bombs, so what's the point. While Rehberg's concern about jobs is a valid one and one of the reasons Montana still even has an Air Force base, it is a waste... [show more]
